I need help resolving a tcase issue on a 92 explorer sport. Some History - When I engage the dash button for 4x4 things work o.k. When I shift to neutral and engage 4low, the dash lights go blank and the explorer shifts back to 2hi. So I checked the computer in back. O.K. - I disassembled the tcase motor, cleaned and serviced it and even cycled it while off the tcase. Cycled fine and the dash buttons worked just fine. The motor moved to the right positions and back as directed. So-- I manually cycled the tcase spindle. It moved freely into 4hi. I shifted to neutral and cycled into 4low. It would not lock and provided tremendous resistance. This may be why the motor would not turn. So I'm thinknig something is bad with the tcase. Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks Doc
