Transfer case e-brake

Right now I'm contemplating my plans for my Explorer for next summer. I've been contemplating rear disc brakes but it seems like the e-brake is the biggest problem, and most expensive. My drum e-brake right now is giving me plenty of problems, but thats a different story. Either way if I convert to disc brakes can I leave out all the ebrake hardware (save money on it) and put that money toward a transfercase (or some other method disc brake). The article in this months Peterson's has peaked my curiosity and it seems like an attractive solution. Anyone done this or have any thoughts.

I read the same article and ive been thinking of doing it. It seems pretty doable but it seems kinda costly. but it probably wouldnt be to hard to fab up some stuff with the proper knowlegde and tools.
 






Our tractors at work have E-Brakes on the output shaft of the tranny, I could send you pics to give you even more ideas. I haven't seen the article so I don't know how thorough it is.
 






Seems like ours would be easy to do too, because doesn't your t-case have a bolted flange, I don't know if thats the correct term, but doesn't the u-joint bolt to the t-case. So a rotor could be put right on there, but where could we bolt the caliper.

This kit costs $90 but another guy is selling it for $11, link just shows more pics. It says the calipers have built in e-brakes so they wouldn't be as big a pain as the conversion using ford parts. I emailed the guy for costs and PNs.

Just looking through my Haynes looks like the harmonic balancer might be a good candidate for a caliper mounting plate.
 






my CJ has a drum that the driveshaft attaches to. heres a pic of it:

mustang rear discs have the regular brake line and the e brake line go straight into the caliper.... no funky mini drum on the rotor.....
 






So would that be like the caddy calipers described for use with the brackets off of ebay. Can mustang calipers bolt onto an explorer?
