So the electric range select motor on my 1993 4.0L 4x4 ranger died and I happen to have a couple almost new ones from a 1995+ ranger/explorer on the shelf. Can I use one of these if the connector end is changed up to the 93 one? Just concerned about the sensor wires from the cap.
Differences appears to be the 95 has a blue sensor cover, (93 black), and even though the wire colors are the same as the 93 there position on the sensor blue cap is different. Not sure if this means its setup different inside and won't work or it will and it's just a design change doing the same thing. Make any sense?
I opened the 93 motor up to see if it is fixable but the sensor cap bolts were so corroded on they snapped. Just trying to save some time drilling and tapping the holes etc.
