I was just wondering about the type of Transfer Case that should be in a 1993 Eddie Bauer Edition X? Im having the classic "Press-4-Wheel-Drive-Button-Two-Clicks-Then-Nothing-Pay-Us-Lots-Of-Money-For-Another-Inferior-Accuator-Motor" Disorder (technical Ford name I hear:) Now I have read about how to rebuild this motor, and Im pretty sure Ill be successful, BUT there is something weird going on. The TC pictured on

Dead Link Removed

its supposedly a pre 1994 TC, BUT my shift motor does not look like that, it looks like this

The Ranger Station: Shift Motor

There is a sticker on the side of transfer case that says J2A. I was uner the impression that the TC was supposed to be a Borg-Warner? Im not real familiar with these type things, and Im just curious as to which type of shift motor Im supposed to have and if that corresponds with what I DO have. Any help would be appreciated.

The second motor pictured is just the "new" replacment motor. It is the same motor as the one used on the '95-up 4405 T-case. Your t-case should be a Borg-Warner 1345.

Actually, its a 1354 Borg Warner. Think Mike had the #'s mixed.

I just went through the same thing a couple of weeks ago. It took 4 attempts before I finally "fixed" it. Had to scuff the contacts on the shift position sensor.

Good Luck.

Sorry I missed that! Thanks Bill.

Thanks

Thanks for the information guys. IM planning on the rebuild after schools out, I graduate from college on May 10th
