transfer case questions

ok i have a 95 x sport 4.0 ohv and auto tranny 4x4 with a tcase that shows 2wd,4hi(auto) and 4lo.tcase works great,truck is alittle rough.i just bought a 1998 4.0 sohc and auto tranny 4x4 with a tcase that is bad but it is ... auto,4hi,4lo...can i swap the 95's in with no problems?

both cases say they are 4405's.the 98 has a flange style yoke and the 95 has a ujoint stlye yoke.

Yes, the 95 case should work in the 98. You need to use the 95 front drive shaft. The 95 case will have a VSS thats not used in the 98. Just leave it in the case (to keep it sealed), and ignore it.

well i think i am going to find a manual tcase to swap in.would a 1354 work?
