Transfer Case rear output shaft seal leak - 2002 Mounty AWD V8

I need help on replacing the seal on my rear output shaft, I noticed a leak but it wasn't bad enough to cause a drip on the garage floor. I saw this post on the forum but I think the removal of the flange might be different for a 2002 mercury AWD V8.

Before proceeding, make certain the leakage is indeed due to the seal....I had drips along the bottom edge of the transfer case, but real close inspection of the boss behind the U-joint flange revealed the metal to be dry there. The leakage was due to failed sealant material between the halves of the case itself. 'Course, fixing THAT was a whole lot more trouble than doing just the seal!! :hammer: imp

Initially I suspected that the leakage was the sealant of the halves (looks like RTV) but it wasn't. There's a trace of gear old coming from the output shaft and ultimately reaching the bolts at the bottom. There's also traces of splash coming from the flange/u-joint on underside of the floor.
How much did you pay for fixing the sealant? or did you do it by yourself?
