transfer case

My 4x4 4H does not engage but 2h and 4L works. The Ford dealership told me it will be the electric motor on the outside of the transfer case. My truck is a 2008 Ford Ranger. Has anybody had this problem with there truck or heard of this problem?

Welcome To The Forum! A similar problem occured on the older trucks but don't know of many newer ones with this issue especially going into low but not hi, if its an 08 don't you still have a warranty on it?

No I don't have warranty because it is on the outside of transfer case.
