AS we speak my 2002 explorer is in at Ford for service. I have had three instances of the tranny being in drive but moving very slowly. Almost like slipping in gear. Has any one had similar problem? My transmission has no dip stick so i cant check fluid. As an after thought i am getting a noise from the front end when going over a driveway. Last year the stablizer bushings were replaced. Looks like the same problem again. Is there a known problem with the bushings? Other than the above my Explorer has performed great. This is my second XLT and i think they are great:D Hope someone can answer my questions as a little advanced knowledge is good to have when I go back to Ford. Thanks all. Ken

I say 3 strikes and you get a free new tranny ;)

Good luck!

Just returned from Ford for transmission service. I was told the sealed transmission needed fluid causing the slipping. I asked if it was leaking and they said it prob. was shipped from factory with low fluid. My vehicle is a 2002 XLT. Shouldnt i have had problems earlier?? Do you think I'm getting a snow job?:(
