I recently hit a tree with my 99 ex. and the garage said they wanted to bypass the transmission cooler to save me money on repairs since I do not tow anything with it....what are your thoughts on this...?

If you do this,,, get ready to kiss your transmission GOODBYE!!!!!

I'd find a new mechanic.

save you mayeb 100$ now to later be stranded on a highway with ars wizzing by at 70mph, waiting for a tow truck, than havening to drop bout 1k to get the trans rebuilt? its up to you but i would diefinatly NOT bypass it..... what is it just the cooler is messed up? go to autozone they have them for liek 50$....

PEACE

I would absolutly NOT listen to the mechanic. Doesn't matter if you tow or not, your transmission still gets hot and the cooler will help to keep it cooler and prolong the life of your transmission.
