- 2013 Explorer XLT
2013 Explorer XLT with tow package. We got a new explorer and are keeping this one for running errands etc. I'm in the process of replacing all the original radiator hoses and, since we will not be doing any towing, I'm wondering if it is possible to bypass the engine oil cooler. I would like to avoid the need for the special lower radiator hose as well as ensure against any coolant/engine oil problems in the future. If the engine oil cooler can be bypassed fairly easily, I would consider it. If it is a complicated or expensive procedure, then I'll just replace the original hose and install new clips and O-Rings on the oil circulator tubes. Anyone have knowledge on this?
Thanks!
