Hi,

I am almost done replacing my automatic transmission. I have an automatic 91. I am trying to put the two transmission cooler lines back on and I can't remember which one goes on the top and which one goes on the bottom (the ones on the passenger side close to the engine.) I must have bent them a little or something and can't figure out which goes where.

I would assume the the line that is on the bottom as it passes the oil filter would be the bottom one as it hooks up to the transmission but it looks like it might go the other way. If somebody wouldn't mind to go look under their's or if somebody knows off the top of their head...

I would greatly appreciate any help. I'm getting married on Saturday and we're supposed to be using it to pull some wave runners to the honeymoon.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Do you know which line is the output? If so that one would go to the top of the cooler, I would assume.

I don't know how to use that information to help... I just am trying to figure out which one goes where. Basically I just don't know which one is which.

I'm not sure it matters much which ones goes to which -- there is nothing in the system external of the transmission that says it has to go one way or the other. Oh and congrats on getting married!

I think you want the line out on the top, just because it is hotter, and if on the bottom the heat would tend to soak back in, instead of rising off. But, I guess at least 90% of the time you are moving, and the wind does the cooling, not radiation.

I started walking down the road until I saw a 91 explorer for sale :) I knocked on their door and he let me look under and I found out that the lower one on the transmission goes to the top one of the radiator.

Hello

On my B2 I ran from bottom of trany(line out) to top of rad then from bottom of rad to top of external cooler out the bottom of external cooler back to the top of the trany if that helps at all.
