Transmission Failure???

i Went driving on saturday and wondered why the car seems to think for a sceond before it moves after i put in d.. Same thing on r... 4wd is working in high position not in low... car is 94 xlt with 4.0l and automatic transmission... now i put in some more atf but it didnt help me at all... i tried to drive in my yard with 4wd high and car just died and felt like more sticky to move... I Bet i have had somekinda Mondaypiece of explorer cause there has been so many confusing problems... But Ty Everybody allready from ur help... P.S do u know can i use aerostars 4Wd in explorer???

The transfer case in the Aerostar is electronic AWD which is computer controlled. What are the exact symptoms? Do you have no drive, and reverse?

i have lousy drive and reverse... it takes few swconds before cars starts to move and usually it doesnt move before 2000 rpm???

You might have low line pressure. Check the rear port with a 0-300 PSI gauge. You might have a sticking boost valve, defective modulator, clogged filter, valve body or cooler, bad valve body gaskets or loose valve body bolts.
