So I did a transmission flush on my '03 4.6L this past weekend. As you all know, it's a PITA the way you need to check the fluid on these.

After driving home from work today, about a half hour, I was on a very, very, very slight incline when I crawled underneath and checked my level. I wasn't surprised that it started coming out like a little boy peeing, but once it started sputtering as it came out, I put the plug back in.

I know everywhere says to wait till it drips, but will it really hurt to have 1/4 of a quart or so more in there?

It was well above 110 degrees when I checked it due to driving it for a half hour in the city. Having the stuff run down your hand isn't the most comfortable thing. I'm just concerned about going till it drips, like recommended. It seemed to be pumping out in rhythm with the torque converter, which means that if I were to go below that level it wouldn't be a good thing.

I suppose I'll check it again in this miserable cold & wet weather...what about the dripping though?
