Hello All,
I have a 2003 Mountaineer. I decided to change the fluid and filter myself. As many of you know you can't add the fluid without a pump. So, I used a syringe to add about 6 qts of fluid into the transmission and then drove it 15 miles to the dealer. Low and behold I added the wrong fluid to it. Mercon 4 not 5. So the dealer flushed the system and added the right fluid to it. Now after getting it home and driving it I notice it hesitates when going from P-R and P-D. It doesn't slip while driving. I took it back and they saw the solenoid valve body is bad. My question is did I do this with the wrong fluid??? Please advise.
