OK, hope I'm in the right place..... I'm use to my 94 explorer and it's shift patterns. Is in normal when you accelerate with half throttle for it to shift at about 4,000 rpm? That just seems high to me. The only time my 94 shifted that high or a little higher was when i was to the floor! I'm driving a 2013 limited now.

Hard to really tell but according to my driving it does seem high. I don't pay that much attention to mine but under normal acceleration it seems to shift around the 22-2500 RPM mark.

Thank you Peter, it shifts fine when I'm about 1/4 throttle. Its about 1/2 way down it shifts high. Just weird

I believe this has come up before. I see if I can find it.

I would guess that's high but it's hard to say what you think light or moderate acceleration is. To me 1/2 throttle is pretty aggressive. In the video of my transmission slipping, you can see it shifts at 3krpms (from 2nd to 3rd) right before it slips. I would say that I wasn't at 1/2 throttle there but I've never measured it either.
