Transmission issue.

All right everyone. I need help and suggestions . I have a 2005 Explorer sports trak 4.0 sohc v6 with a 5r55e trans. I was having issues with it not shifting properly and it would not kick down in to passing gear. I babied it home . It seemed to run fine when it reached above 40 mph. But was slow getting to that speed as if it was not shifting though the gears . I parked it and went to move it the next day and it would not go into reverse or drive but it would move if I use drive 1 and 2 but not drive. I changed the fluid and filter and that did not help. Any suggestions ?

I had the same problem. The overdrive was fused to the shaft. Using 2 or 1 over rides the seized overdrive. Had mine rebuilt at $1800. 188,000 miles, 2001, 4.0 motor. Clean no rust. Dave P.
