I need to replace the trans lines as there rusted and one is now leaking. Will the lines from a 2002 work or not?.Mines a 97 with the 4R70W and the 2002 was a roll over vehicle with only 25.000 miles and he's parting it out.He said both lines for $25

No. Totally different vehicle.

When I first bought my 2000 AWD Mountaineer, I saw that the trans lines were rusty and wanted to replace them. I did internet searches and found that preformed replacement lines were available. The set was about $90. This was almost 2 years ago, so I don't know if they're still available. After scrapping the rust off my lines they didn't look as bad as I thought, so I never replaced them.

If you just have one small leak (and you can get at it) you can cut out the bad section with a mini pipe cutter tool and repair it with a piece of transmission line and a couple of clamps. There is not much pressure in the trans fluid lines (probably around 15 PSI) so you don't need to go crazy with the clamps.

It looks like the hardest part of replacing the entire line(s) is getting at the fittings on the transmission to remove them.

I actually found new lines on ebay and both are gonna cost around $45.So I'm not gonna try to patch them.Gonna replace the rubber lines as well.
