I hope it's still under warranty. Get it to a tranny pro quick before it gets destroyed.

Denise I am with you I have a 93 XLT 3in bdy lfit and 32in. tires and i was driving in 4th gear and i was going into 5th gear and it wouldn't let me shift into 5th and the stick shift won't move its real hard to make it move. People are saying that big tires wore down my tanny, but i never heard of that. I NEED HELP PLEASE!
Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kenny

Are we talking A4LD or manual tranny?

I was confused by Explorer4x4s post. A4LDs don't have a 5th gear. Obviously he is talking about the 5 speed manual.

Denise,

Any luck?

well, it is likely to be the pump in the transmission....my unpaid mechanic says....aka--hubby.......called transmission guy....said it would be 350 $ to fix...said torque converter had most likely been damaged as well..well one payment is better than signing on for 6 years at that amount......she is on the way to recovery...lol thanks alot for trying to help...

So did replacing the front pump and convertor solve your problem?
I just lost my 4th gear and am searching the boards for similar problems that were solved.

Thank you
