Hey guys,
So I have been having the infamous rough shift/bucking between 2-3 gear after a transmission rebuild at AAMCO. After taking it back several times they told me that my PCM was shot and that is why I am having the rough shifts and bucking and I need to replace it for 2100 bucks. I took my truck to the ford dealership and had the PCM flashed with new software and the rough shifting was gone! tranny was smooth! until the next day when it went back to shifting rough just as bad as before. At this point im not sure what to do because they are saying that mechanically the transmission is fine. And that the PCM is causing all of the issues. Do i get a new PCM or should I take it to another shop and see what they say? Im looking for the least expensive route as possible. And also just out of curiosity what usually is the cause for the rough shifting that I am experiencing? thanks in advance

Really are you even asking this question again...take it to another damn shop...how does that not cross your mind...all shops arnt honest including dealers...go to another reputable shop and have them test it shouldnt be more than a simple diagnostic fee and go from there. If its bad replace it if it were me by getting a used computer and doing it myself since its easy or if its not the computer show the shop the documentation that the cpu is good and tell them you will take legal action if they dont fix it and honer their warenty.

it obviously did cross my mind since I included it in my original post as you can see there on the top. And I am not asking this question again, I am asking for advice with new and updated information. Thanks for your advice though
