I have been monitoring a problem on acceleration, the RPMs get in to the high 2000s and then drop a couple of hundred, then adjust back up quickly. Does not hapen on hard acceleration and idle is very smooth Still..
Thought it was gas/spark at first but after change of plugs and new fuel and air filters, same problem. When I press the overdrive switch into the off position, the problem is gone!
Is this a tranny issue ? Anyone familiar with this problem?
Overall running is good 140k miles but tranny occasionally bangs.
Appreciate any ideas , especially low budget and stay out of the Ford garage ideas
