I took my car out of the garage, when I got into the street and put it into drive, as soon as i stepped on the gas i started to hear a rattling/shacking noise, the thing is it shifts just fine with no problems, that sounded like it was coming from the undercarrage, and happened right when I put it in drive, that is why i believe it may be the transmission. I have never had any work done, and have had regular fluid changes, any idea what it could be? Would some of that Sea Foam Transmission Treatment stuff be a good idea?

Thanks, Derek

/bump anyone got any suggestions

could be the heat shield on your cat ....

I've actually have a similar sound coming from mine. I just lifted mine, so I'm pretty attenive to any rare noise. But I believe the other guys right, your heat shield. But the only place mine does it, or atleast I notice it, is at my girlfriends at night. I usually park down grade on a hill and when I leave I back up a little and then put it in drive. One time I heard it just a few seconds after I started to truck, then I started to back up and didn't hear a thing. Then when I put it in drive I heard it for a second then it went away. I'm sure it's not the transmission itself. If it's one thing I'm gettin use to at the shop i work at, it's transmission problems. I think it's just a shield of some sort that is vibrating while in idle or at low engine RPM. Hope I helped some. One thing you can do is just kind of craw under there (after its been sitting for awhile) and just kind of hit your exhaust and see if anything rattles.
