Transmission problem

Just rebuilt the tranny and now it's not as responsive feels a little loose in first and doesn't always go into drive have . To go into park or reverse then back to drive to engage (sometimes) was told . Maybe range sensor? I don't know ...

Pulled a code for shift solenoid A performance/stuck closed.... Changed out shift solenoid one and thought I had it noticed exposed wire on the connector and was told it was ok because everything is emersed in fluid anyway so I didn't do anything about that it only does it after about 30 minutes of driving but no code this time but then again I noticed it in the driveway after the drive and I parked it immediately. So I did have a shift kit installed in the valve body maybe that is causing it? I'd really hate to yank this thing out again.
