Current problem is no reverse in my Ranger.

you need to give more description than no reverse. is there any thing broken. automatic or 5-speed?? have you even starting searching for the problem or did you come straight here. go over the basic stuff and check for broken parts, low tranny fluid, check your shifter cable cant help you if you dont help see what your seeing

No reverse or overdrive but 1,3,

It all started when the overdrive light began flashing off and on while driving 60 mph, the transmission started slipping, so I turned the overdrive off and it stopped slipping and I made it on to work. At the end of the day I tried to back out of the parking space and there was very little reverse. I had to rev the engine to move back enough to pull out. I already had one of the solenoids replaced a couple of months ago and everything was fine until now. The truck will go into reverse if I turn the overdrive off but it still slips, just not as bad. It only goes into drive with the overdrive shut off now and runs good as long as I leave it off. We replaced the pressure solenoid to no avail. Transmission shop says reverse isn't affected by the solenoids but I have my doubts since it all went at the same time and reverse does kick in with overdrive shut off. I've scoured the forums and haven't been able to find a problem exactly like mine. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

i cant help you there but it sounds like you have one of those explorers that just hate their owners. my only opinion is to keep researching and look for a very good transmission shop that knows how to fix transmissions with out replacing everything until they hit the right spot. or if you have a warrenty then try to have ford look at it maybe they will replace it or fix it under warrenty

welcome rats

No code

The guy thathas the code reader said it showed the pressure valve being bad and it was replaced. Problem still exists and no codes are showing now.

did anyone figure it out.. mine does the same.. doesnt move in od but when i push the button i drive all over and my reverse is the same as this one. i'm getting tired of having to find big parking lots to turn around in.

thnxs.
