It's a long one. I had the tranny replaced about 16 months ago everything was fine until this summer. I was cruising down the highway turned on the AC and the truck got super hot, guage went off the wall. Turned off the A/C, it cooled down, and I made a mental note. A few days later the 14 month old tranny lost all of it's fluid. Took it back to the shop and they had to re-seal the whole thing, 600 bucks, because it was past the warranty periond but they shaved off 200 because of my past experience with them. I asked them innocently what could cause the problem, they made an explanation something to the order of, well sometimes lightbulbs lose their filaments before you expect them too, or TOO HOT. I immediately felt guilty about the too hot suggestion. Oops. Anyway it was going fine for about three months, suddenly, now, when it's cold I put it into gear and it wont move for the first 10-15 seconds. I wait patiently get a slight clunk and it moves, no problems. I've had three thoughts,
1. maybe it's been running too hot (gauge seems normal).
2. Maybe it's the light-bulb filament theory all over again.
3. Maybe it's been running too hot and I need to change the factory transmission cooler, clogged or something.

Just yesterday I put a new Radiator, Thermostat and hoses in, thinking it's probably time anyway, 180,000 miles. Of course that will help the overheating problem, hopefully, but what about this 10-15 second "pause" before it starts to move. I'm really starting to worry because I don't want to have more than 3k invested in my tranny before it's even 2 years old.

Any insight, opinion or observations, would be deeply appreciated.

Thanks
