I don't think there's a way to make it work. The 91 to 94 uses an A4LD transmission, and IIRC, the 96 uses a 4R44E. Or, it may be a 5R55 in the 96, either way, I don't think it's possible.
I needed a transmission for my 96 and bought a used one. Now that I have it though I found out that it's from a 91.... It does suck! Thanks for your help.
I don't think that any of it would work. the driveshafts would be different, the wiring and sensors would definitely be different, and I'm not sure what all else would be. BrooklynBay or Glacier991 are the resident tranny gurus here as far as I know, and they might be able to tell you more than I can.
Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the transmission section. Don't bother trying to get it to work. 91 uses EEC-IV as the computer system. 96 uses OBD-II. You would have to swap computers, wiring harnesses, and other stuff. The 96 has more upgraded parts, so you should try to repair your 4R55E instead of swapping with an A4LD.
