Transmission question

I was changing oil on my wifes 2017 Explorer and noticed the transmission is leaking. I can admit that I don't know much about transmissions. My question is, what are the bolts in the picture? This is where the oil is leaking from.

Those appear to be pipe thread plugs. If they represent "low points", leakage elsewhere (higher up) will accumulate and drip from them; they may NOT be the source of the leakage.
