Transmission Questions

Greetings from Belize. I currently have two 1999 Explorers. One here in Belize and one in Sanford, North Carolina. They both have high mileage and are running ok. They both have six cylinder engines and automatic trans. The unit in NC has four wheel drive. I came across this web site while looking for answers to transmission problems with the unit here in Belize. Looking expectantly for answers that have not come via mechanics here.
I'm not sure what model 5R55 trans I have. The owners book lists "E" some other web sites say "S". Does some one know where to fine the "for sure" model?
