Transmission Removal From Engine

I have a 2004 Eddie Bauer V8 that I'm trying to remove the transmission and I having trouble separating the trans from the engine. I've separated the Bell Housing about 1/2" on one side and about 1/4" on the other. I just can't seem to get them apart. Any ideas or advice??

You get that nasty little bolt on the top of the bellhousing toward the passenger side.

Not sure if it's the same on the V8 but doesn't the flex plate need to be disconnected as well through the starter hole?

You should have 7 bellhousing bolts. 4 on drivers side 3 on passenger side.
