Hello,

I have a 4r55e Transmission in a 95 Explorer. Just today, after coming home from a long trip the transmission started acting up. It seems that if the transmission downshifts under acceleration, it goes into neutral or slips like crazy. If I release the throttle and accelerate slowly, it seems fine. It upshifts fine as long as you don't peg it to cause a kickdown. It was really hot outside today, and my trip was through hilly roads, but I do have a large transmission cooler installed. I also replaced the VB gaskets last year. No O/D light flashing yet.

Any suggestions.

Pull the pan again and retorque the vb?? Or something more serious?

Thanks

Rob
