They should be identical if they are the same 1997 5R55E.

Sorry to jack this thread but how about a 96, 97 ohv or sohc into a 98 ohv? I found these transmissions in the junk yard but am not sure if they are all compatible even though I have read the sticky on trans. identification. Thank you!

The 96 has a 4R55E. The 97 has a 5R55E with an extra sensor. The 98 does not have this extra sensor.
