transmisson cooler

i guess this is the best place to post this question. But i was cleaning my truck the other day and noticed a whole lot of crap in the trans cooler, bugs, leafs, etc. can i just wash it off with water or will that mess up anything.

Yep, spray it from the back side and maybe use a soft brush to loosen things up a little.
