Trim removal

I have a 1994 XLT and i want to remove the ugly black trim on the outside. How can I remove it without recking the paint underneath? If I remove it will the paint underneath look ugly and not match?

I found this link, it should answer any questions you have.Click here As far as the paint it depends on how faded it is already. If it is bad you probably will notice it.
