I don't think you can really find a cheap suspension lift for your explorer. Most people do a torsion twist in the front and either add-a-leaf or Warrior shackles in the back. The torsion twist is free and then you just pay for the add a leaf or shackles($35-$55)
Also you will need an alignment.

sorry to ask dumb questions, but torsion twist and warrior shackles suspension mods? could they be done along with the 3" body lift?

with the 3" body lift, and the 2" suspension mods as listed, what kinda wheels/tires can i run?

minor trimming of what? i saw in other threads "the plastic"....any pics of what has to be trimmed?

it jsut depends on your truck, every one is diffrent, i have noever done any trimming becasue i am only on 31's but if you do the bl and throw on 33's there shouldent be much trimming of the plastic inner fender well, thats all

I have 31's on my 98X and the front driverside tire rubs when turning.... stock height and bad shocks. Replacing the shocks but trying to figure out whats a good brand AAL's.

nice ride dman726749 is the 2" TT all u did to ur X or do u have a body lift also?
Would a 2"-3" body lift allow me to run 33" without trimming?

not without a good amount of trimming

nice ride!!! where did u get ur 2" suspension lift (make, price, place of purchase)

here is my 97 X with 33 on a Torsion twist, AAL and Shackles.

here it is a month or so later on 35's with a 3" BL added on top and timmed the running boards back a little.

thanks for the compliment ;)
the lift is generic lift shackles for the rear that i bought at advanced auto and the front is lifted by twisting the torsion bars...the shackles usually run about $15(i would get the warriors if i did it all over again...theyre beefier, even though they are more expensive at $50, i forgot the part #, i think its 153). after that you will need an alignment.

Where is a good place to get the AAL's and the Warrior Shackles?

For anyone looking for AAL's for your 91-98 or higher possibly explorer 2wd or 4wd check out summits site with part number EXP-13120 States 91-97 but talked to tech from ProComp and they said it will fit the 98 as well. May also fit other years. If anyone needs to see if they make them for their vehicle procomps number is 1-800-776-0767
