I have a 93 Explorer and for about the last 2 weeks I have had trouble starting it. I usually have to try cranking it 2 or 3 different times before it will start. Once it does start it runs fine. In the trys of cranking it I do not hear the fuel pump priming, but then I do hear it before it does turn over. I'm thinking that it is a relay or an something in the ignition. Any suggestions will be very helpful! Thanks

My 1996 XLT 4.0 is doing kind of the same thing. But mine only does it when it rains.I can crank on it all day and it will not start. I have checked the fuel rail and there is no presser when cranking the engine. I have to use starting fluid to get it started and then it runs fine till the next time it rains. Ford said that there is nothing wrong with it. I told them next time it rains I'm going to bring it in and let them see for themselves. If anybody has any suggestions Please let me know. Thanks

If you turn the key over to the on position do you hear the fuel pump? If so wait a sec ond then crank it over. Thats what I have to do or it turns over a bunch before starting.
