My 2002 ford explorer will not hold homelink programming from 1 day to the next any ideas on how to repair it?

Did this just start happening or has it always done this? It might be the garage door system and not the HomeLink.

It just started happening. Garage door system works with the other cars no problem.

Hmm... Does the HomeLink work when the vehicle is off?

Do you have several openers hooked up to the garage door? Some garage doors have limits on the amount of transmitters they are willing to save the codes for. You could also check the fuses. And if those do not work, have a dealer take a look at it.

I would start off by checking the constant voltage on the Homelink brain at the buttons... sounds to me like you might have a blown fuse... What is happening is your homelink is not keeping memory due to it not having power. The homelink should work if the ignition is on or off... the only time it shouldnt work is with the ignition off and the doors locked, that is so someone cant break into your vehicle and open seasme... they are into your garage.
