Finally got around to wiring my new Mounty's trailer lighting. It has a connector in the rear bumber that I connected into.

The running lights work, as do the left and right signal lights, but when I apply the brake only the left brake lights on the trailer......

....does anyone know where to start? or have any problems with the vehicle wiring itself?

Going to look over the wiring diagram tonight as the signal and the brake energize the relay since you have a seperate signal light and brake light feeding a single light.....

Dang FORD (oops, Mercury)

Firstly, is the brake lamp a dual filament bulb or does it just use a higher wattage to light brighter? If it's a dual filament bulb then try changing that first. After that, I'd check it's ground. Then I'd check the brake signal wire starting at the lamp and working my way towards the front of the trailer then to the truck, etc.

The problem is in the truck, the factory tow connector brings out taillight, left/brake, and right/brake.

For some reason, the right brake is not functioning...but there is conductivity to the right as the signal works.

The Factory connector is a 4 conductor connector
GND, right/stop, left/stop, and running lights.

The current is run through relays as not to load the vehicles system....also, since it is a single light on the back of the camper that it is feeding, when you have the brakes on and then signal left or right, the system needs to disable the brake light and blink it to signal so the diagram for the vehicle is a bit tough to follow.

I am going to call the dealer and see if this problem is under warrenty. They have to provide me with a 90 day warrenty but not sure what is and what isn't covered.

Tx
