Truck broken into, stereo taken

When I lock my car (using keyless entry, pressing the lock button twice quickly) and the horn honks... doesn't that mean your security system is activated? I can't get my alarm to go off when I arm it. Am I doing something wrong?

stock ford alarm systems will not be like regular alarm systems, it provides protection but not as much as if u were to buy an aftermarket one. Try this, roll ur windows down, lock and arm ur alarm then open the door from the inside and it will go off. Beating on ur car will not set it off because it does not have a shock sensor, it will only go off if someone opens the door while it arms.

A trick I found out the other day while messing with my moms on her expedition is if the alarm is going off and u dont have the pad to shut it off, put the key in the ignition and turn it to the ON position and itll shut up. Talk about security

In the Durango when you arm it the power disables. I like that over aftermarket systems, but there aren't add-on sensors you can get for this.

not sure how explorers are but I know rangers are the easiest to get into .. Give me a minute or less and I can get into my ranger with the doors locked.

If you surely don't want nobody to get into your truck the easiest way would be to shave the handles. Then you would have to worry about them breakin the windows to get in.

One thing you can think of doing is getting a stock radio. You remove the face off of the stock radion and then use that as a mask for your expensive radio. Then when you park the truck you throw the face of the stock radio over and then people think you have a stock radio and are less likely to break in..

I like that idea, I still have the stock radio so I may give that a try. I do have a Code Alarm that is the keyless entry only, so I may see if I can get a Code Alarm alarm system to go with this...

Truck is getting the door fixed this week...final cost for the door will be $1000.
