Truck problems again

I have a new problem now. As I drive the truck seems like some one is tugging on the back bumper. It will be a real quick fast, boom and than it stops. Shortly after this the check engine light comes on for about 5 min than it turns off. after this process it could be 20 seconds or 10 min before it happens again. Some times it happens over and over and some times it will do it only once. I havent had a chane to check the codes yet I'm going to do that when I get home tonight. I also just finished fixing the hessitation problems with a new set of plugs and wires. a week later this starts. :fire: If any one has any idea or experenced this, All help will be apprecatied.

possible back fire in the exhaust........what makes me say this is 3 things one the cel and the inconsistant times it happens and that you just got done doing plugs and wires.............i could be way off but this is where i would start......what the cel tells you will determine a lot of where you go from here too

Ok the codes that the computer is giving me are: 157 Mass air Sensor Below min voltage, 158 Mass air sensor above max voltage, and 172 Heated oxygen sensor indicates lean condition, right side. Now, the question is what does that mean? Is the mass air sensor on its way out or is the O2 sensor.

always fix the first code first and then reset and drive but here it sounds like a 2 fold problem kind of but not really related i would change the mass air sensor and reset and drive till the drive cycle is complete and see if the cel comes back on
