truck won't hold in park?

i recently swaped out my trans because the old one finally let go. everything is fine except that when i put it in park, the truck still rolls like it is in neutral. i used the old tail section of the trans and it worked fine on the old trans. the parking rod is moving into the tail section like it should but is not enguaging. i tried disconecting the shift likage to make sure it wasn't just an adjustment but it still rolls. any help that you can give would be great. i really don't want to take it all back apart, but if i have to i will. thanks in advance.

Sounds like the parking prawl within the transmission is not being engaged.

recall

just found out that ford had a recall on the trans for just this problem. i am thinking that the trans that i put in has not had the recall performed. i am going to swap the old parking prawl from the old trans into the new one and see if that fixes it.

i looked at the 2 prawls and visually they look the same. does anyone know what the difference is between the 2? don't really want to pull it apart if i don't need to. thanks.
