Try new headlights and lens.

If you are having any problems with seeing at night it might be time to at least change your headlight lens. After years of use, mine were scratched badly, I tried to polish them, it helped little.
I changed the lens out. It is somewhat easy to change them, about an hour. Major improvement.
I went a step farther and added 9007 Xenon HID 8000K Plasma Blue (light blue) Conversion Kit (Dual-Lamp). It was somewhat easy to install them also. About an hour.
And Dang I can see for miles, seriously. Everything is so much more vivid, road signs are easily read from far away, roads are well lit, excellent visibility, and the morons cruising in the passing lanes get out your way.
Best investment ever.
I bought the conversion kit from http://www.xenonrider.com. They are very reliable, quick and easy.
I put a kit on the wife's PT Cruiser, and it has awesome visibility also.

Great tip..I am considering polishing my 03 clear stock lenses as well,but would like to buy brand new clean ones instead.Mine are really chipped/scratched.
Where do you recommend buying new from?

I ordered new lights from Rockauto.com. the headlight was $23 and the signal part was $12 plus freight.

im thinking about putting hid's in my ex the ones im looking at say they only have low beams...do all hid's only have low beams? if so do you miss having your high beams?

Did you still use the same style lens? I had those pnp HID bubs in my stock housing for a few months on my old Explorer.... I don't know about you, but the CA law says that HID's are illegal unless they have projector lenses and an auto-leveling device.
I'll be installing some HID projectors later this month in my '02 Explorer (no auto-leveling) That's what gives you the crisp cutoff line and NO GLARE for the other drivers.
Seeing for miles was nice, but I think I was able to see so far because I was essentially rolling with highbeams all the time because of all that stray light.

my older pnp HID bulbs did have highbeams also, but stil beware of the glare in thise stock housings. (I got mine from a horrible company called HIDxenonheadlights.com... 3 ballasts and 4 bulbs burned out in 12 months)
