Hello,
Well last Friday when I got in my truck I stared it and it was loud. It had been sitting for a week, because I live in campus, and don’t need to go anywhere that often, and I was leaving to go see my girlfriend for Valentine’s Day when this happened. Where I am in NY it has been getting really cold at night. It been in the negatives every night. I was thinking it was maybe happening because had been cold out and my truck was sitting for 5 days Also i also thought that it was being caused by the cold because 2 weeks ago I had an oil change and when it was done the dealership that i have it done at does a complete visual inspection and everything checked out good.

so I the trip i made was about 550 miles round trip or 275 one way. Well when I got there it was still loud. so I ran to a close Napa store quickly. So i told the person there that it was loud and was looked at 2 weeks ago and checked out good, so he told me to try Mac's Thermo-Aid since it was looked at two weeks ago. run It threw my truck on the ride back and it did nothing so there must be something wrong. From what I can tell the noise is coming from underneath truck, and when you’re driving you can fell a vibration on the floor on the driver side, but not on the passenger seat side. Since the oil change reported that everything checked out good, is there any kind of fittings or seals that should that could be causing the problems.

Also I apologies about the way I explained this I don’t have the greatest mechanical background, I am just trying to narrow the problem. ;) Also my luck i just had to be Friday the 13th when this happened!

Have you got up under to actually look and see what has broken and rusted out?

Also in those kinds of temperatures, look and see where the exhaust smoke is coming from on cold startup. You will be able to see it coming out certain leaky areas of the exhaust.

Thats going to be about the easiest way to figure it out on your own without having a smoke machine, way to monitor fuel trims, or other tools, etc.
