TT and shackles done... real fast too

also one thing we did differently from that write up was that we took both sides off before trying to put the new ones on. Of course we were using a chassis lift and then a fllor jack to support the rear while we unbolted it. Since the rear was free from it's shackles on both sides we were able to drop it lower so we didn't have to pull on the leafs to get the bolts in. One side we needed a rubber mallet to get the shackle to slide over the bushings but that was it. On diffuclty I would rate this install a 2. Woulda been a one but it seems like it coulda been harder with out air and a lift. Oh yeah that would be on a scale of 1-10

one more thought for BonesDT alot of places like Advance Auto Parts will loan you lacks and tools with a deposit. Not sure if they do this in your area but I know around here they do. Save you the money of going out and buying a floor jack.

Is there anything special about the Desert Rat shackles, or can you use something from like Autozone?? Is there gonna be a big difference between 2 pieces of steel with holes in them????
:hammer:

I have the jackstands and floorjack high-lift to 21". Got a deal when wal-mart mispriced there floorjack and jackstand kit. Went to return a jack that i got for x-mas that was only a 16" lift and was $30 dollars. So i grabbed the high lift jack and stand kit which rang up on $14.99, so i bought 2 kits.

So 2 - 2 1/2 ton floorjacks and 4 jackstands for $31.78. LOL :D
