hey i need some info guys , i have a stock 95 xlt 4x4 with factory tires and everything, i was gonna upgrade to 31's with a tt and some shackles but i just wanna know if the tt and shackle mode will give me a rough ride , with rancho rs5000 shocks. i mean i know it will be a little stiffer but i dont want to hit a pot hole or ride over some railroad tracks and feel like i have no suspension at all. give me some feedback guys, i need to do this before winter so i can have some fun in the snow.

I honestly don't think you will feel that much of a difference. The torsion twist and the shackles will stiffen things up a bit, but it really just takes what I consider unwanted "mush" out of the ride. The 31's will add back some "mush". The biggest thing you will notice is ride height.

Did I make any sense? Hope so.:D

I just got back from having 31's installed on my X, I did the shackles and TT last week. The X is not stiffer than before the TT, it definatly sits higher now though. I think the rear end feels a little "mushy" around turns, NOT bumps, due to the increases ride height. I do have stock shocks though, which are probably shot. I asume if I upgrade to a heavier duty, stiffer stock it would eliminate that. Maybe a larger sway bar too.

Overall I LOVE the way my X looks and drives, I think I'll just have to get used to the extra altitude:D
