Tuner for Towing

Good Morning,

I am looking for suggestions or comments for those that tow with a 2017 XLT with the factory towing package. Is there a good turner that can help with adjusting the overall performance while towing?

I don't recall anyone posting just about a towing tune. Several members have added tunes to their vehicles but none stated it was just for towing. I don't have one myself but I'm guessing a general tune would help boost towing ability.

We could definitely help you out with some towing tunes for your Explorer via our Mycalibrator handheld tuning device. The tuners are sent out blank and then you use the device to save a stock calibration read uploading that to us online using the Mycal app. From there you'd send an email to request your tunes and let us know which octane versions you'd like sent, if there are any other performance modifications on the vehicle, and things of that nature. We offer performance and also towing specific tunes for all octanes 87,89,91,93+, and all Mycal tuners also include lifetime tuning and support free of charge so long as you own it. We improve transmission shift points, shift firmness, raised speed / rpm limits, improved throttle response, increased HP / TQ, and more. Most clients come to us to get a tune for increased performance and fuel mileage, but we've had a ton a great feedback on the towing tunes especially in the transmission area as well.

All of our Mycalibrator tuners include unlimited lifetime tuning and support free of charge so long as you own the device. So there wouldn't be any additional charge for the tunes once you purchase our devices. The new Mycal touch tuners also have several new improvements over the older style Mycal including datalogging, gauges, and can hold over 10+ tune files where as the older devices could only store 2-4 tunes depending on the model vehicle. To my knowledge we are still the only calibrators that offer truly lifetime tuning and support free of charge with all Mycal purchases including the transfer to a replacement vehicle if you part ways with the original vehicle and your new one is supported by that device. We also have multiple vehicle support coming in the near future where you'll be able to purchase additional VIN credits to have the ability to use our tuner on multiple vehicles at the same time which will be revolutionary once that is fully released since nobody currently offers that on a handheld programmer.
