well... i went to my local junkyard and pulled a turbo out of a volvo... it came with wastegate and bov and it is water cooled... I have seen may online instructions, but none are very specific...

I know there are some guys here that have done there Xs turbo... so I was wondering if they have any specific instructions like where to tap the oil pan, what oil hoses to cut to get feed and return lines, etc. etc.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Before you get into this make sure you know trims of the turbo, how much you will need for tuning, possible parts that will needed to be fabricated.

Putting a turbo on a car or truck is expensive when done right. No one wants to get halfway threw a project and not have enought money to finish it or if you do finish it not have enough money for a tune.

The online post you have seen are not very informative because every application will be different. Most are done in such a way where they will not last very long. Your best bet would to get an STS and adapt it to your truck. Oil lines tapped into the pan would go where you would always have oil but not on the bottom of the pan. Starving the turbo just once of oil can cause major damage to the bearings.

With all of that being said get a rough estamate and add 2k for bumps in the road.

I agree with the above post. Turbo setups are only as good as the tune. If you want to do. It right then call system they can really help you out. When I get on my computer ill post more... I hate typing on my droid!

Send a PM to Mounty03. He is currently the only 3rd gen with a turbo setup. He also has a V8 as ppposed to your V6, but the idea should be similar.
