The turbo you'll need for the V6 will not be good for a 302. It would be better to do the swap (If you're set on doing this) and then the turbo system.

For the 4.0 I'll give you a couple turbo's used and you can do the research from there on which one you like.

1) Garret T3/T04E - .50 AR with 57 trim, .63 AR turbine
2) Precision PT61

Keep in mind that the location you plan on mounting the turbo is a variable for picking a turbo. So if you want to mount the turbo further away from the engine, the turbo selection changes.

If you are starting with the 4.0 and are moving to a 5.0 in the future, I would go with something like a 60-1( or PT 61 or similar) with a P-trim turbine and a .58 housing. Then when you upgrade to the V8, you can just change the exhaust housing to a ~.81.

I run a chrysler 10$ T3 .42/.48 on my 4.0 under the hood. It suits the 4.0 just fine for what I wanted but a 302 will be very different youll need a larger turbo or 2 T3s

so what would be good for the 5.0?

A t4 or t3/t4 hybrid? Or is dual the only way to go?

I understand the a/r ratio now and I know the inducer exducer and all the terms I just haven't got the math down yet.

I'm only hopeing for 4-8 psi at most from this setup.

Thanks guys

Hey seth,

Search for the mustang 5.0 aftermarket turbo kits and see what they're using.
