Has anyone used this stuff and if so how well did it work? As well as the rest of the ICE line of stuff Ice Liquid Clay Bar, Ice Car Wash, and Ice Paste Polish.

I love that stuff but when my friend uses it. I seem to mess it up ever time.

try the meguiars that comes in the purple bottle it is a synthetic wax. The other bottle thats red is carnuba wax. If your looking for a good wax STAY AWAY FROM CARNUBA WAX. Carnuba is a type of plant and it fades in sunlight and washes off faster than synthetic waxes. The turtle wax original is a Carnuba Wax, while the Turtle Wax Ice is a full synthetic wax. I haven't tried it myself but what do you have to lose other than a couple bucks.

I got it and used it and am not impressed at all. It left streaks and smears all over my car. I won't use it ever again.

As with all over-the-counter car care products, you'll find mixed reviews for the line. Like Essex, I'm partial to Mequiar's products, though I prefer Clay Magic's clay bars. But from what I've read, the Turtle Wax Ice products seem decent. The best place to research them (or any other car care products) is Autopia.org. Here's a good thread to get you started.

Depends on how you define "good". The most expensive waxes in the world are Carnauba because nothing else gives show car paint the same depth, warmth and vibrancy. But no one will ever claim it's good in the durability department. Hence the popularity of synthetic waxes in the daily driver world. But that's not to say you can't use both. Many folks, including myself, top NXT with Carnauba to give added depth and richness. Incidentally, I find the NXT paste wax more durable than the liquid version, doubtless because it's less diluted.

thanks i think ill give it a try. Can i get it at autozone or places like that. I think 2 b/c mine is wight it wont show the mistakes as much.

Yes i have seen it at pepboys, autozone, napa auto parts, and even TARGET.

As for the mistakes, My old car was a 1999 Accord and it was DARK Emerald Green and i never had any problem with swirl marks. Having a light colored car will help too.

Here try this, when i wax my Ex this is what i do.
1. Wash the Explorer - DO NOT USE DISH SOAP, use car soap dish soap removes wax due to its a degreaser
2. Dry it off
3. Make sure to get as much excess water off as possible, ie open the doors and wipe the insides off. Any extra water driping onto fresh wet wax will affect is life.
4. Wax the entire body of the Explorer
5. get yourself a towel and a cheapo wax buffer like this one
749c_1.jpg

They areusually like $30 bucks
6. use the towel to rub of a portion of the Explorer ie, the front, half a side, etc.
7. Use the buffer to remove the remaining wax in that area and to polish.
8. Repeat for the rest of the car.
9. Now that your done you may want to walk over the car and look to see if there is any remaning wax residue still left on the paint.

10. Repeat steps 1-9 every 6 months at least

Using this method you should be able to wash and wax any car small or large within an Hour. I highly recomend this method due to the fact that its way faster than just toweling off the whole car.

I agree although it looks like he is looking for a simple solution and if you want to get complicated you might want to use a clay bar over the whole car first. Then Use a scratch remover and cover the entire outside of the Explorer. Finaly a good coat of synthetic wax followed by carnuba is your best bet. If your really into it i like to wax my cars at least once a month.

Thanks for the link Flandry. I think im going to use the ICE clay bar and do the hole car and then do like a VS with the meguiars synthetic and ICE Synthetic Paste Polish. I think my friend has the meguiars and ill only be out like 10 bucks for the ice . Ya im just looking for a ez way to do it for the X. I live on a dirt road but i still like to have it clean on the week end and nice pics to show off. When i take my prelude to shows i give my friend $20 bucks and a 12 pack he does it for a living and does the best work i have ever seen but if i like this stuff i might do it a lil more often.

I use ZYMOL. It is very good. Never got the kind of shine I get with that. Its a a light blue gray color found at most places. I 100% recommend a claybar cleaning before any waxing.

I bought the liquid claybar and the liquid wax since it was buy one get one free at Pepboys and it didn't have the same result as the actual bar

I am also a Meg's guy. I use almost exclusive Meg's products, and a lot of the professional Meg's products from the paint shop supply. I have used the Liquid ICE, and have a 95% full bottle you can have. Used it on my black 2004 F150 and while the no residue on black trim was nice, it lasted nowhere as long as other products. It's super easy to put on and remove, but that's good- You'll be doing it 5x as often. I clay bar'd Snowball this past fall and NXT'd one coat, and I still have finish and no major paint contamination. The NXT 2.0 is supposed to last longer, and I just put my first coat of 2.0 on my black SHO, I expect it to be as good or better than the original Meg's NXT.

Here are some pictures after using ICE. What really stands out is the lights and the chrome since you can use it on everything. The pictures don't really show how nice and shiny it made the lights.

Very nice

I didn't use the spray, I used the kind that comes in a bottle with an applicator sponge and a microfiber cloth. Very easy to put on. Less than half the time of a traditional paste wax. The spray may actually be the exact same thing though, they may just market it differently. Not sure.

Thanks i still haven't got around to doing it. My drive way is a 1/4 mile long dirt road so the cheap and ez but still good is what im looking to get. No reason for me to spend a few hours getting it show room and it be back dirt in a few days. Ice claybar and past ever week will do what i want.

Dang that sucks a whole lot. Heck my drive way is what, 20' from street to the house. No dirt roads here.
