1999 XLS
I recently purchased a low milage (48k) '99 XLS and have a few questions about it.

(1) I think it originally came w/ a Key less entry.(saw something in the original sales docs in the glove box) Is there any way to check to see if it is equipped to use a Key less entry?

(2) The back windshield whipper is does not seem to function. I have not messed w/ it much and i may be missing the switch but i turned the one to the right of the radio and there is no respose from the whippers (also if i press that button it sounds like it's trying to spray watter)

Thanks in Advanced for the help.
Andrew

Don't know about the remote, but the wiper is an easy fix. You've got the right switch...when you push it, it sprays washer fluid and should wipe....when you turn it, it adjusts the speed of the wiper. You've already found out that the fluid motor is working fine. Now, check the fuse/relays for the wiper motor. If they are all good, then pick up a new wiper motor 'cause yours is probably dead. Ebay has tons of them, junk yards are a good bet, and I've seen several past forums on this site about rear wipers. Good luck, keep us updated on the new ride!:navajo:

Thanks for the info.. It was really bad cause i bought it today and it just happend that it started raining hard on the way home :/ I will look at the fuses and go from thereAny one have any info on the Key less entry?

Does it have the exterior keypad on the driver's side door?

No keypad on the drivers door probably means no keyless entry installed from factory.
I guess there could be an aftermarket that was sold with the vehicle but I would have no idea how to tell.

No it did not come w/ any remotes i bought the used all i got was two keys. So your saying that if it does not have the keypad on the door that it is not equiped w/ the remote that unlocks the car?

I would say it his highly unlikely that you have keyless entry if you don't have the keypad.

I didn't even realize it was an XLS model we were talking about. I agree with AL, I don't think it was a factory option.
