First I will like to thank you all for great site. has served me very well and save lot of money.

1. I dont know how to explane this with my limited english skills. but I try, my throttle petal feels like it is stiff when is all the way up. When I slow down on a speed bump is very hard to accelerat gently. it usually jumps a head if you don´t go extra extra gently.

2. I went out to try to lubricate the throttle petal to fix the proplem 1. ( not fixed) when I heard very strange noise somewhere under there. No power on the car the key is on off. Dont know how to explane the nois it was like dripping ticking noies..I can´t explane it better. ( and when I was down there I ajust the thumb wheel for the trans needle :-) I read some thred about it here yesterday)

Any thoughts??

well, your 04 has drive by wire. so the gas pedal just moves a position sensor that tells the computer how much power you are requesting from the engine. The computer then electricall opens the throttle body accordingly. It sounds like your throttle body may be sticking. You should be able to remove it and clean it. I think there are threads already about cleaning the drive by wire throttle bodies.

zecolleman... can you take a picture of your engine? especially fron the part which is connected to the air filter hose on the engine?

here is one I have, I can take another if you want..I have been trying to find answer if it alright to clean it or not and have not getting results I don´t want to damage it

Cleaning engines is always a hot topic. It is usually ok to cover the sensitive electronics with plastic bags, and use a spray on engine degreaser, then let it sit for a couple of minutes, brush the extra dirty spots, then rinse off with a light mist from a hose. After that, have an air compressor handy, and blow the water off for the most part (and out of the electrical connectors) then start up and let the engine warm up and evaporate the rest of the water.

Never wash a hot engine, as the cold water from the hose sprayed onto the engine can create big problems. Engine should only be warm, like run it from dead cold for about 3 minutes, or wait about an hour after you get home for it to cool down.

Some people have had issues with older vehicles after washing, as the old electrical connectors hold water and things like to short out. As always, a box of rags and a spray bottle of cleaner like "Simple Green" if you have it there works great, and you for sure wouldn't have any problems with it.

I've done both, on one older vehicle I had issues with water getting in by my spark plugs (not in the engine, just in the plug well) which created a short and poor running.

As was suggested, the throttle body is most likely sticking on your truck, as it is drive by wire, so you're not technically moving the throttle body butterfly yourself when you push the pedal...

I was talking about cleaning the throttle boddy I am not sure if is ok or not. Some peoble here say is not and some say is ok I dont want to damage it. but my engine may hava bath too :-)

AH! Sorry about that... :)

Here is a nice writeup on Mobil1: CLICK ME

Just found that, they seem to have some nice basic writeups on there...

some say is not ok do do this on some ford throttle body becose off so coning surface on it.

Just be sure you use "throttle body cleaner" and NOT "choke & carburetor cleaner" as that will damage the coating.

But, if the issue is a stiff accelerator pedal then cleaning the throttle body will not fix it since it is electronic. Make sure your floor mat and/or carpet is not interfering with pedal travel. If that is okay you may need to remove the pedal assembly and clean the electrical part of it with "Electrical Contact Cleaner".

By the way, you do really well with English! Anything other than English and a bit of Spanish and I have to use http://translate.google.com/#

There is a protective Teflon-type coating, but as Steve said, if you use the specific cleaner for it, you'll be ok. Cleaning the TB is a common thing and does help performance...

This one:

- Safe on Teflon coated throttle bodies
- Removes harmful deposits
- Lubricates and protects moving parts

ok thanks. Maby I did´t explane it right it´s more like you push it litle bit and nothing happen and when you reach a certain point then it do ALL that it should have done already.

Here's a TSB verified per your VIN. Getting a reflash in Iceland may be an obstacle. I'll email you all the info but I posted this for general info.

Thanks alot :-) now I just have to read this and try to understand it and talk to the dealer here and check if he can do this reprogram of the PCM. I will bet that he have never heard about this Calibration files. but wil give it a go.
