I have 1995 explorer 4.0L auto, I would like to know If I get a 94, 96, 97 and so on body and just put my own engine in would it fit and work? Is the thing it sits on the same type and so on? What about the transmition?
Thanks in advance.

You have a 4.0L OHV V6 which was used from 91 and recently dropped in 99 or 00 or somthing. It should just bolt right in.

Can somebody give me facts, not thoughts? What 98Ford is saying, that I can buy and ford 91 and up and put my engine in it, no problem what so ever? Is that true for transmission too?

They would fit in any of those years. They all used the same engine and transmission. As for working... For the engine to work with the computer, you'd need to put it in a '95-'99 that came with the OHV engine. (heads changed in '95 so I don't know if a '91-94 computer would match up right) As for the tranny, the internals changed in '95 and again in '97, so the computers in a '95 and '96 would be the only ones that would work with your tranny.
